Fly fishing is a wonderful and relaxing hobby. It takes a lot of time and patience to learn the sport and learn it well. Once you are a skilled fly fisherman, you want to go to spots where you can completely dedicate yourself to your hobby. Sure, anywhere you can fly fish is great but there are times when you want to go somewhere the fly fishing is outstanding. For fly fishing vacations here are a few fly fishing destinations that are sure to please the avid fly fisherman.

 

One of the most popular fly fishing destinations is Montana. Montana is well known for their great fly fishing areas for trout. Fly fishing enthusiasts come from all over the world know about the Montana River’s like Yellowstone, Beaverhead, Madison, Bighorn, Clark Fork, Gallatin and Big Hole.

If you enjoy colder climate try Alaska. Alaska is thought of as the place that sets the benchmark by which all other fly fishing destinations are measured. Fly fishing experts from around the world know that this area is the place to catch some of the most beautiful salmon and trout in the world. Fly fishermen from this area of the world are known to have the largest fish catching rate in the world. June is the best month to go for fly fishing in Alaska.

If you feel like really, get out and away from it all to do a little fly fishing, try New Zealand. The north and south islands are the best for fly fishing. However, one thing you should be aware of is that homemade trout flies are cannot be used for fly fishing on these islands. Summer is the best time for fly fishing for trout and the islands are popularly known as Angler’s El Dorado.

Canada has always been a popular fishing destination spot for all fishermen but especially fly fishermen. The lakes are passive and gorgeous and the rivers are used for fly fishing. Canada is one of the best places in North America for trout. Black Lake, Selwyn Lake, Misaw Lake are just a few of the fly fishing spots where there is both saltwater and freshwater salmon.

The last of the top five fly fishing vacations is Norway. If you are a fly angler that only fishes for salmon then you owe it to yourself to go to Norway. Norway has wide ranges of various types of fish. Norway is the place to catch the largest amount of salmon in the whole world. The salmon are bigger and the taste is entirely different.
