There are over 1,000 miles of streams as well as rivers for fly fishing and produce prizes like the Coho salmon, rainbow trout and trophy pike. There are several lodges in this area of Alaska that provides guides that give a genuine Alaskan fly fishing adventure.

Floatplane or train can only approach most lodges in Alaska. Lake Creek is one of the finest places for fly fishing in Alaska and is northwest of anchorage. This creek has beautiful king salmon, pink salmon and rainbow trout. Lake Creek is a very isolated area however, the scenery and experience is the best.

Another wonderful fly fishing destination in Alaska is the Alagnak River. The river is a short distance from Bristol Bay and has great tidal waters that are the breeding ground for chrome bright salmon. The chrome bright salmon are only there a few days as they adjust to new waters from coming from the ocean. Every tide brings a new batch of fish. Fly fishermen are guaranteed of catching more than their share of fish every time.

The Kenai River is another excellent fly fishing area for rainbow trout. This beautiful river has easy access as long as you have a guide to lead you. There are many locations where you can find a guide so be sure to plan a fly fishing vacation to Alaska. Most lodges have guides for fly fishing vacations however there are other places that do also should your lodge not have one available.
